INEC Scores 80% in Card-reader Test at Senate

Nigeria’s INEC demonstrated how the card reader to be used in this year’s elections works on the floor of the Senate Wednesday. Several senators stepped forward with their PVcs and confirmed that, indeed, it was almost error-free. Senators Ahmed Yerima of Zamfara State, Chris Ngige of Anambra, Bukola Saraki of Kwara and others scored INEC high.
Questions were fielded by the INEC chairman Attahiru Jega.
Perhaps none remembered to tell him that the card reader may not process more than 50 voter cards within 5 hours (8am to 1pm) allotted for accreditation.

Jega admitted, however, that 800,000 to one million PVCs were still being expected.
