Senator Anietie Okon, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State, has faulted claims by some members of the party that Gabriel Udom Emmanuel was endorsed as the gubernatorial candidate by Governor Godswill Akpabio.
Okon said the allegations are misplaced and also come from members of the party that had either been sacked or are involved anti-party acts.
He said the correct position is that the people of the state, and the entire Akwa Ibom PDP endorsed the candidate and the leader of the people and the party in the state just did the bidding of the people.
The senator spoke in Abuja on Tuesday.
