NASS in Last-minute Rush to Pass Bills

Nigeria’s National Assembly is busy passing bills that may never yield fruit because electioneering is at hand. Many of the bills had been lying in the NASS for two and three years. Bills on amendments to the constitution including those that concern state creation, curbing corruption, and the Petroleum Industry Bill may not see the light of day. The NASS however swiftly approved life pensions for its principal officers.
