Penguin Random House South Africa announced in a press release Monday that it has withdrawn a controversial new book, Mandela’s Last Years, from circulation.

The former president of South Africa, Nelson Mandela, died on December 5, 2013, at age 95.

Mandela’s widow and grandson are among family members that complained about the book written by his doctor, Vijay Ramlakan, because it contains personal details.

Publisher Random House said it had pulled the book “out of respect” for the family.
