The member representing Ifako-Ijaiye federal constituency of Lagos State in the House of Representatives, Mr Adewale Oluwatayo, has died in Abuja. It was first reported that he died on Wednesday, but it was later learnt that he was found dead at home on Thursday morning..
He was the chairman, Ifako-Ijaiye local government between 2004 and 2007, before serving as a special adviser on education to Governor Fashola from 2009 to 2011.
“He was a committed and hardworking member who championed the cause of his people,” said House speaker Yakubu Dogara in a condolence message. “Our hearts go out to his immediate family, the people of Ifako/Ijaiye federal constituency and Lagos State over this great loss.”
