Ojo Maduekwe, who had played effective role in the 16-year reign of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of Nigeria, has been reported dead.
Aged 71, he was a minister both in Obasanjo’s regime and Yar’Adua’s regime. He was also national secretary of the PDP.
Maduekwe’s state of origin is Abia.
Also, a literary giant, Dr Elechi Amadi, reportedly died in Port Harcourt on Wednesday. He was 82.
Amadi was the author of The Concubine, Sunset in Biafra and other titles. His state is Rivers.
