The Madueke family has confirmed that former petroleum resources minister Diezani Alison-Madueke is being treated for cancer in London. The disease was diagnosed while she was in government, the family said in a statement condemning media lies about her arrest in London over money laundering and corruption.
Mrs Alison-Madueke, it said, had undergone chemotherapy for four months and was awaiting a surgery.
It said she was never arrested but invited by the UK security agents, adding that the properties ascribed to her son did not belong to him.
