Former petroleum resources minister Diezani Alison-Madueke was arrested Friday morning in London along with four other suspects.
The National Crime Agency (NCA) of the UK effected the arrest. She is accused of money laundering and corruption. Nigeria’s EFCC at the same time searched her residence in Abuja.
This may be the beginning of efforts to recover stolen oil money.
Mrs Alison-Madueke and the other four suspects were friday evening taken on bail. They are to appear in court on Monday.
