CCT Orders Saraki’s Arrest, Senate President Reacts

The Code of Conduct Tribunal sitting in Abuja Friday afternoon directed IG of police Solomon Arase and other law enforcement agents to get Senate president Bukola Saraki arrested.

Justice Danladi Umar issued the bench warrant because Saraki failed to appear in court to answer for a 13-count charge of perjury and corruption brought against him by the Federal Ministry of Justice.

Saraki had yesterday obtained an injunction from another court summoning all the parties next Tuesday.

In a reaction Friday evening, Saraki through his media adviser Yusuf Olaniyonu decried the order to arrest him, saying it was abuse of rule of law.
