Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President have cut their salaries by 50 per cent, according to a statement issued by the president’s senior special assistant Garba Shehu.
The annual pay of the president and the vice president are about N14m and N12m respectively. But their allowances far exceed their basic salary. The cut does not affect the allowances, however.
