Christians Celebrate Easter

APRIL 5 – This year’s Easter celebrations take place around the world. The Christian festival, a commemoration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, is considered the most important event in Christianity because Christ’s resurrection from the dead is the fulcrum of the church’s existence.

Pope Francis will celebrate Mass at 10:15 GMT in Vatican City, and it may be views on television around the world. All other priests of the Catholic Church as well as pastors of other denominations will celebrate Mass or its equivalent in their churches too.

Easter is preceded by Good Friday and Easter Vigil in the Holy Night on Saturday. Easter Monday concludes the celebration.
