Kuwait Celebrates 54th National Day, 24th Liberation Day

The State of Kuwait marks her 54th National Day and 24th Liberation Day on February 25. The country’s ambassador in Nigeria, His Excellency Dr Abdulaziz Alsharrah, will celebrate the twin events in Abuja on Wednesday evening with a reception.

Kuwait has a population of 4.2 million, two-thirds of them foreigners. The oil-rich nation was forcibly annexed by Iraq in 1990, leading to the US-led war to liberate Kuwait from Iraq early in 1991.
