INEC chairman Attahiru Jega will lead other INEC chieftains to a meeting with the chairmen and secretaries of Nigerian registered parties on Saturday, February 7. After the meeting a final stance on the 2015 elections will be taken.

INEC is likely to insist on going ahead with the polls. The National Council of State, which met on Thursday, merely advised INEC to do enough consultations.

However, Jega may be given the option to resign or shift the presidential election by six weeks — to March 28.
