Boxing legend Muhammad Ali on Friday left hospital after receiving follow-up care for a urinary tract infection. He had been admitted in hospital a fortnight ago, discharged and then readmitted on Thursday.
Family spokesman Bob Gunnell said Ali was looking forward to celebrating his 73rd birthday on Saturday with family and friends.
Ali was born as Cassius Marcellus Clay, Jr, on Jan. 17, 1942. He changed his name when he joined the Nation of Islam.
The three-time heavyweight champion of the world retired from boxing in 1981 before being diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 1984.
