After midnight this Tuesday, Nigeria’s political parties will no longer have the chance to change their candidates for governorship and state assembly elections fixed for February 28. The deadline for presidential and National Assembly candidates was January 6.
INEC has announced that it would release the names of party candidates for the former on January 27. Shockers from the names of National Assembly candidates released last week were noticeable in Anambra State: totally new names were PDP candidates for Senate.
Meanwhile, INEC is expected to release the voter register today. It promised to do so last week.
