Supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of Nigeria, who were travelling to Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, for the opening of the party’s presidential campaigns, were on Tuesday waylaid and shot at. The incident happened at Buguma.
The police have identified the attackers as “unknown gunmen”, adding that the initial report they got was that nobody died. Other reports say up to a dozen people got killed and others wounded. The truth is still unravelling.
