Even though they defeated the Bright Stars of Sudan 3-1 in a return leg in Nigeria on Wednesday, Nigeria’s Super Eagles is not likely to qualify for the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) to be hosted by Morocco in January.
The Eagles’ match with the Bright Stars of Sudan in the first leg on Oct. 11 in Khartoum ended in 1-0 against Nigeria.
The outcome of Wednesday’s match is, however, almost useless for the Eagles. They can no longer make it to “Maroc 2015” unless they win all their next matches. The Bright Stars are out already.
