For losing 1-0 to the Bright Stars of Sudan on Saturday night, Nigeria’s Super Eagles have been prevented from taking part in the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) to be hosted by Morocco in January.
The Eagles will tackle the Bright Stars of Sudan in a return match on Oct. 15 on the Nigerian soil. The outcome will, however, be useless for the Eagles. They can no longer make it to “Maroc 2015” in January, but the Bright Stars may, if they beat the Nigerians again in Abuja on Wednesday.
But there was a good piece of news on Saturday: Nigeria’s Falcons defeated Ivory Coast 4-2 in the African Women’s Championship in their match played in Windhoek, Namibia.
