Senator Ezea Names 45 New Assistants

By EKONG UTIP

Senator Okechukwu Ezea (LP, Enugu North) has named 45 new aides. A statement signed by his media adviser Aniebo Nwamu and released on February 20 says the new appointees were drawn from the six local government areas making up the Enugu North senatorial district.

Senator Ezea, popularly called “Ideke” after a shipping company he founded and ran before going into politics, beat a sitting governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of the PDP, to emerge winner of the election held on February 25, 2023. He alongside 108 other senators took the Oath of Office on June 13 in Abuja.

Enugu North senatorial district comprises Nsukka, Igbo-Eze South, Igbo-Eze North, Udenu, Igbo-Etiti and Uzo-Uwani LGAs of Enugu State, Nigeria.

The senator, according to the press release, enjoins his new aides to constantly monitor activities in the district, identify the felt needs of the people, and advise him accordingly.

“We must justify the change our people voted for,” said Senator Ezea, adding: “By assisting me in the task of feeling our people’s pulses and suggesting ways we could attract democracy benefits to them, the new aides would be serving as partners in the struggle for a new Enugu North.”
