Apparently disappointed by irregularities that marked the February 23 presidential and Natioal Assembly polls, a majority of Nigeria voters have shunned polling stations on March 9.
Reports from Lagos, Abuja to Adamawa and Enugu say voters felt their votes won’t count and therefore stayed in their homes on the day they were to elect governors and members of state assemblies as well as council chairmen in the FCT.
Armed soldiers and other security operatives flooded states is the south-south and some in the south-east. Deaths have been reported in some states.
