Kidnapper ‘Evans’ Captured in Lagos

Security operatives have arrested a wanted high-profile kidnapper named “Evans” in Lagos.

Considered the most notorious and richest kidnapper in Nigeria, 36-year-old Chukwudi Onuamadike is from Nnewi in Anambra State.

Mr Onuamadike (“Evans”), sources said, heads a gang that operates in Rivers, Bayelsa and Delta state. He is the mastermind and only survivor in the attempted kidnapping of Chief Vincent Obianudo, the owner of Young Shall Grow Motors, in Festac, Lagos, in August 2013.

IRT/TIU operatives were celebrating the capture of the most wanted criminal on Saturday.
“Evans” is known to have kept his victims for up to seven months in captivity until a ransom as much as N300 to N400 million paid in instalments is completed.
Several wealthy Nigerians living in Festac and Amuwo Odofin areas of Lagos have reportedly relocated to Ikoyi, Lekki and Victoria Island and left their mansions empty because of the notorious kidnapper.
