The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has announced the recovery of the corpse of a suicide victim, Dr Allwell Orji, from the lagoon.
Orji studied Medicine at the University of Lagos. He worked at Mount Sinai Hospital in Lagos.
“The body of Dr. Orji was recovered at about 4pm today 22nd March, 2017, by the Marine Police, it said in a statement. “The body was identified by some of his family members, including the driver, in the presence of the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Mr Fatai Owoseni.
“The body will be handed over to the family while investigation continues.”
Dr Orji had on Sunday, about 4:30pm, ordered his driver to stop on the Third Mainland Bridge, came out of his Nissan SUV and jumped into the lagoon.
On Tuesday, the marine police recovered a body which was not the doctor’s.
