Onukaba Adinoyi-Ojo, Shehu Dauda Buried

Veteran journalist and author Dr Onukaba Adinoyi-Ojo was on Monday buried in his ancestral village Oboroke-Ihima, Okehi LGA of Kogi State. He was 57.

Adinoyi-Ojo, a former MD of Daily Times Plc, was killed Sunday night as he was running to escape from armed robbers. Another vehicle also running from the robbers knocked him down.

He was returning to Abuja from Abeokuta where he attended ex-president Obasanjo’s 80th birthday events.

In 2015 he ran for the governorship of Kogi State on the APC platform and lost. He served as adviser to former vice president Atiku Abubakar until 2005. He authored or co-authored several books including the biographies of Obasanjo, Atiku and Dele Giwa.

He was one of the pioneer staff members of The Guardian in 1983.

Many of his colleagues in the media have been mourning his demise.

As they do another veteran journalist, Shehu Dauda, 61,who  was also reported dead Friday night and buried Saturday in accordance with Islamic rites.

Dauda was the editor of Newbreed, Sunday Triumph of Kano and The Mail  at different times. He was the first editor of LEADERSHIP daily from February 1, 2006.

Dauda hailed from Kano State.

Death also took Mrs Florence Seriki, founder of Omatek Computer Ventures, on Sunday. Engr. Seriki, who started Omatek Ventures Plc over 20 years ago, died of a cancer. She was 54.
