Nasarawa, Ogun, Taraba, Edo, Ondo, Plateau and Rivers are Nigerian states where deaths from Lassa Fever have been reported.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) says it has confirmed 20 cases of the disease in the seven states since December 2016. Scores are under surveillance, it adds.

Likely, the FCT Abuja is affected also.

The disease is spread by rodents mainly.
