Nigeria’s Supreme Court on Tuesday ended litigations against the election of Yahaya Bello as APC governor of Kogi State.
Bello replaced Abubakar Audu who died after an inconclusive poll held on Nov. 21, 2015, which he was set to win.
James Faleke, who was Audu’s running mate, rejected the party’s decision. The PDP candidate and then incumbent governor Idris Wada also wanted to be declared winner since his APC opponent was dead.
Governor Bello has been joyful. Faleke has accepted the Supreme Court’s verdict but expressed no regret for fighting up to the apex court.
Details of the judgement are expected on September 30.
