SEPTEMBER 21– A youth-led non-governmental organization, Peculiar Youth International Initiative (PYII), in conjunction with the Lagos State government will host youths across Lagos State at PYII’s annual youth leadership summit tagged “Youth Leadership and Social Impact”. The event will take place at the Main Auditorium of the Lagos State University (LASU) on Wednesday, September 21, 2016.
A release signed by PYII’s project director, Ms Godspromise Effiong, says that prominent politicians expected at the summit include Lagos State governor Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, deputy governor Dr Oluranti Adebule, speaker of Lagos House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, Senator Remi Tinubu, Senator Solomon Yayi, Hon. Jude Idimogu, Hon. Desmond Elliot, and Prof. Frederick Agwu.
Organizations such as Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team (RSVRT), Ford Foundation, and Tony Elumelu Foundation have also been invited to the event which will be open to all members of the public.
Ms Effiong adds that the event would feature guest speakers of high repute such as Barrister Chisom Onuoha, Dr Taiwo Nolas-alausa, Dr Joshua Bolarinwa, Mr Oloyede Oyebanjo, and Dr Idongesit Eshiet who would speak on various topics aimed at educating and building capacity in youths.
There will also be live performances, poetry recitation, networking, mentorship and empowerment.
