Shuaibu Amodu died Saturday morning in his sleep. Like another former Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi, he died in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria.
Mr Amodu, 58, died just three days after Keshi did.Keshi was 54.
Tongues are wagging, suggesting that both deaths may not be ordinary. Yet another former coach Sunday Oliseh reportedly confided in friends that he used to fall sick after shaking hands with some people in Nigeria, and had to resign his appointment in order to stay alive.
Amodu was said to have complained of chest pains in recent times.
Nigeria’s football body, NFF, has been enmeshed in politics, acrimony and lawsuits.
