A 33-year-old man died of Lass fever at the National Hospital, Abuja, on Wednesday. he was referred to the hospital from a private clinic in Kubwa.
The Nigerian government has raised the alarm, requesting all family members and those the patient had come in contact with, during the eight days he spent at the Kubwa hospital, to report themselves.
The victim was recently married and lived in Jos, reports said.
Officially, 43 people have died of Lassa fever in at least 10 states of the country since the current outbreak of the deadly disease spread by rats.
