The publicity secretary of Nigeria’s opposition PDP, Chief Olisa Metuh, apparently afraid of arrest, has told newsmen he invited to his office on Tuesday that he had received an undisclosed amount from ex-president Goodluck Jonathan for an undisclosed assignment. He refused to field any question during the press briefing.
Sources have, however, disclosed that Metuh illegally received almost N500million meant for bribing media people ahead of this year’s general election. He allegedly used the money to buy mansions in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Many PDP bigwigs have been fingered in the alleged robbery of the nation’s treasury of $2.1billion through the Office of the National Secuirty Adviser. Several of them have been arrested but many more are on the run or preparing to escape from the country, as the EFCC continues its investigations into the looting .
