Governors of the south-east, Nigeria, and other leaders of the region will meet at Government House, Enugu, on Sunday to discuss the resurgence of agitation for Biafra.
Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo’s press secretary circulated a statement announcing the meeting.
Major cities in the south-east and south-south have witnessed peaceful demonstrations by unarmed youths calling for the release of Mr Nnamdi Kanu of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB). Members of MASSOB have also joined in the demonstrations.
The governors and Ohaneze are likely to plead for peace.
Meanwhile, Mr Kanu of IPOB is expected to appear in court on Monday. The DSS was directed to produce him in court on that day.
