The president of Zambia, Mr Michael Sata, died Wednesday morning in a London hospital.
Inaugurated in 2011, the president was 77 in July. The Zambian leader had been ill for a long time.
World leaders have been sending their condolence messages to the people and government of Zambia.
The country’s first post-independence leader, Kenneth Kaunda, now in his 90s, is still alive.
