The remains of Mrs Remi Oyo, who died in a London hospital on Wednesday, October 1, will be laid to rest on October 24 in Lagos.
Mrs Oyo, a veteran journalist, was the managing director of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). She was also a special adviser to President Olusegun Obasanjo.
She died of a cancer at age 62. Oyo was a mother and a grandmother to many. She was also a knight of the Catholic Church.
A service of songs by “Papal Knights and Medalists” takes place on Monday, Oct. 20, evening at Fagbile Estate, Ijegun. A “Media night of tributes” follows on Tuesday at the National Theatre, Iganmu. There will also be a requiem Mass on Oct. 22 and Christian wake the next day.
A funeral Mass takes place at St. Dominic’s Basilica, Yaba, in the morning before her interment at Atan Cemetery on Oct. 24.
Her widower Vincent Oyo made the announcement.
