Academics and statesmen have been mourning world-famous Kenyan scholar, Ali Alamin Mazrui, who died early Monday morning (Kenya time) in the United States. Professor Mazrui, born on Feb. 24, 1933, had been ill for some months. He was a great writer on African and Islamic studies as well as North-South relations. Among the early mourners has been President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya.
