Judgement on a suit challenging the legality of the impeachment of Adamawa State governor Murtala Nyako on July 15 was yesterday stalled by the lawyer of acting governor Umaru Fintiri, who challenged the jurisdiction of the Lagos appeal court to hear the matter.
Justice Okon Abang adjourned the case to October 16 to enable the court entertain the new application. By that time, the by-election in the state for a substantive governor would have taken place. It is slated for October 11.
