Four days after he emerged as the presidential candidate of the APC in the February 2015 elections in Nigeria, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari has yet to name his running mate.
Names have been mentioned in the media — Governor Adams Oshiomhole, Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, Governor Babatunde Fashola, ex-governor Kayode Fayemi, even Bola Tinubu himself — as contenders, but the party’s spokesman Lai Mohammed on Sunday dismissed the speculations.
Meetings are, however, being held in parts of the south-west to pick Buhari’s deputy.
An announcement of the running mate is imminent.
