Following public outcry and an intervention by the Nigerian Senate, the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, has suspended its planned increase in the prices of data effective December 1.
Mobile operators would have hiked data tariffs by over 300 per cent, for reasons that are still unclear.
NCC’s spokesman Tony Ojobo in a statement Wednesday said the suspension of the directive to increase “ground floor” for data services was to make room for wider consultations.
Everything but misery has been scarce in Nigeria.
